Clutch noise

I've recently noticed a fairly loud 'clicking' or ticking noise coming from the car.
With the roof off and windows down its very noticeable.

At first I thought if may have been from the exhaust but today, after I depressed the clutch pedal and coasted, the noise stopped.
Starts again when releasing clutch.

It's a very metallic sound - like when the car is switched off and cooling down.
Anyone come across this before or know what it is?

Sorry, no constructive advice save that, suffice to say, mine doesn't do it.

As I said, you can only hear it with the roof off, so perhaps you haven't heard yours

I had a similar problem on my 996 with a noise that went quiet when I depressed the clutch.

I changed the clutch release bearing but soon found that wasn't the issue, it turned out to be the gearbox input shaft, so out came the 'box again,hopefully that isn't your problem and the price of the shaft? £900 plus the fitting.
