95,000 mile 993, what to look for.

Hi,

I had a few 993's a few years ago. I feel I want to own another.. (Love the shape and sound)

I am going to look at a 95,000 C2, non v/ram.

What should I be looking for? Apart from the normal -

Door clicking
Noises from the engine/gearbox
Smoke on start up
A/C not being cold
Rust around window screen (front and rear)

Any help would be great..

Bought an '95 85k C2 coupe man via PH in May. No PPI but checked the standard list. Post-purchase big service by recognised expert revealed no nasties but also fixed smoking from NSR when HOT (2/3 up on gauge, required new lower cam covers), sticking clutch pedal (bleed plus new slave cylinder) and driver's window rattle (new channel). Apart from driver's window rattle the others did not manifest themselves on my in-the-drive inspection or test drive.

Add 'check gas struts on engine cover and front luggage lid' to list. Cheap and doable by OPC at Club discount. Did that too.

I am still in credit on it, though. Now that weather is hotter, worth getting the temp up and seeing what it is like.

Final point, be realistic about "I can always get that fixed/replaced". I'd like a new set of rear lights (three pieces): £844.57 from OPC...
