Sapphire blue Boxster 981 arrived.

Hi folks,
Lurker been here for a while but just changed our 987 Gen2 S for a 981 PDK S at the weekend.
Know a lot of folks are also interested in what Saphire Blue looks like so here's a couple of pics.





Our old car was Aqua and this is much lighter. Lots of metallic pigment in the paint.

Good bit lighter than Aqua and think ever Cobalt as well.

Congratulations, always loved Boxsters and the 981 looks fantastic.

Lots of anticipation for 'Sapphire' - seen a few pics but no two look alike. Think a a lighter blue works well.

Wow this looks COMPLETELY different than the GT3 prototype which was supposed to be in sapphire.

One of my mates has pretty much decided on Basalt Black for his ordered 991 Turbo S,however I'm trying to push him in the direction of Sapphire - looks fantastic!

Good lord that looks fab. Porsche are just experts at subtly changing designs for the better over time. Still harks back to the original, but looks almost futuristic. i remember thinking as a 16 year old who got this model at the classic car show at the NEC one year,

"Itll never look like this IF they build it":



Well, it did and has developed fantastically.

Id love a new Boxster, top work and as was said above, enjoy it!

Other half has a 987S in Cobalt Blue, following on from a 986S in Lapis. Hope she doesn't see this!

Would like to hear your comparisons between 987S and the new car once you get to grips with it. Where are the biggest improvements or is it just `everything`?

My Aqua, by contrast .... which in close up looks very similar!

Think the best description is close the Subaru Sonic blue. Definitely lighter than Aqua.

It looks great on the Boxster. I'm not sure it is a GT3 colour though...
