Porsceh Sat Nav 3 / iPhone 5 / Spotify problem?

Wondered if anyone could help me - I've recently bought a 911 with the sat nav 3 (or whatever it's called). I've connected my iPhone 5 to the iPhone dock via the little cable provided and the 30 pin convertor, load up Spotify and away I go ... all seems fine except I cannot adjust the volume at all, either on the regular volume control or on the iphone itself...it's fixed at a relatively low volume....anyone know how I resolve this? There's got to be an easy way but I've tried everything!!
Side button volume on the phone may fix it if you haven't tried that. Turn it up to max using the button and the adjust on main stereo volume. If that doesn't work fiddle with connectors to make sure all pins are completely slotted in. Both of the above have sorted for me. Other thing is to close the spotify app and re-open.
Have you tried streaming audio via bluetooth instead of using the cable connection?
I guess the PCM is designed to access the music data on the iphone like itunes would, rather than a streaming source such as spotify.
Maybe because they're not designed to work in this way, there is some bug that affects volume control on both....
Streaming via bluetooth, the PCM is just playing whatever is being streamed, rather than exercising control over the iphone.
Maybe worth a try?
