2006 Cayman S - Throttle Cut-Out Problem
Discussion
I've been having a strange issue with my Cayman for the last week or 2, its fairly intermittant but it's a bit annoying when it happens.
It happens the most after changing gear and applying throttle after the gear change, the throttle will not respond and the car almost feels like some form of traction control kicking in. It will do it very occasionaly when driving along say a motorway at a constant speed when applying throttle but not having changed gear. When it happens, If I plant my foot on the throttle it will stay dead, but if I lift off and apply throttle again it will come back to life.
I've ordered an ECU code reader, but I thought i'd ask here to see if there is a known issue or something.
Thanks!

Hi, I had this on my Porsche 997S, the OPC diagnosed and fixed the issue. My car was a Tiptronic, and the brake pedal sensor had gone, basically it didn't know whether I was braking or accelerating -so would cut the power. It sounds very much like your issue, it was always occuring at slow speeds. Since the brake pedal sensor was replaced no issues were experienced - think it was a £13 part.
