They all do, but special mention goes to the F1, F50 and CGT

Now I know what was going on in North Wales last month, saw the F50 and the F1 prowling near Betws y Coed.

In the memorable moments comments from the participants its made pretty clear that the F1 made the biggest impression.

If you weren't allowed to ever get the cash from it, i'd probably take the F50 ... the leftfield choice, the best sounding road car on the planet bar none, makes a Stradale, Scud and Enzo seem as soft as a 5 series Beemer, and is the real deal as opposed to the F40 and 288GTO which were schoolboys practice runs.

I was passenger in one for 15 minutes some years ago, Clarkson was right, you can feel the differing frequency of vibrations from the engine and transmission as the revs rise and fall, it only added to the "racecar" built for the road experience imo.

The "cooking" F1 shape has never really done it for me, if you offered me one of these, that would be oh so very different :

Go on then,I'll admit my ignorance, how does that differ from an ordinary F1?

I know that calling a ~£300k car good value seems a little ridiculous but am I alone in thinking CGT's are quite a steal at that price? By comparison the Enzo, which was released about the same time, is around three times that now, maybe more. Was there an oversupply of CGTs perhaps, or is it something else?

The 991 GT3 will probably be faster in the hands of most people, and still special.

Sometimes there is more to enjoyment than speed... And a Le Mans prototype race engine highlights that point smile

Agree a 911RS also proves that point - and probably similar numbers to the CGT?

So why is the CGT not more loved & valued in a rising tide market that seen values of most ships rise. This is a strange one.Maybe it is all about driveability

So what is the profile of typical CGT owner?

Once you learn to trust the anti stall , a Cgt is fine in traffic .

An rs is a great bit of kit but not comparable to a Cgt In my experience , everything is on a higher level in the gt .
The concentration , skill and effort level required to fully exploit the Carrera gt are higher than those in an rs but still too is the performance level and more importantly the fun , interaction , feel good factor , Noise , and driving experience . The Carrera gt is the most underrated car of the modern era , in time it will be regarded as a classic . The last of its kind .
I was so happy with evo when they sang its praises so highly , putting it joint winner in arguably the greatest road test of all time ( and the affirmation that apart from the size of the steering wheel it is basically perfect ) is no mean feat . I was literally beaming when they would come back from drives and I would see the joy and excitement .
The main problem with the Carrera gt is it does not excell at posing ( just using the clutch to pull away takes a particular technique ) and doesn't flatter those unwilling to put in the time and effort to gain enough skill to exploit this car . It is a car for the true driver and can bite the clumsy , unfortunately those wealthy enough to afford the gt are not always skilled enough to enjoy it .
You must watch the tyres( type and condition ) , the dampers and the geo . The car is notoriously sensitive in these areas .
Other than that , put in the effort and the car rewards like very very few others and is more reliable than the comparable machines .

As for the profile I have come across 2 types of owner the driver and the poseur , the poseur rarely keeps the car long and the driver ? Well that why you seldom see the high mileage cars up for sale . We are going to be buried in them , they are not for sale .
