Weeping brakes

After a 200mile blast this morning, I notice that the previously clean front wheels are smeared in black liquid.
I know the colour is from brake dust but I have no idea what the liquid could be.
It's bone dry outside, not been through any puddles etc, the rears are simply dusty.
It's both front wheels; is there anything in the front that could leak on them, aircon's working overtime, so possibly condensation- is it directed at the wheels?
Any help appreciated.

Yes, both front wheels equally. Nothing on the rears.
Yup, car washed and wheels dressed by OPC,but that was at least a week ago, and it's dry, so I would expect any water to have disappeared especially as its been driven before this (and there were signs of it, but not all over the front wheels as it is now).
The liquid seems quite greasy too.
It looks as if I've driven the fronts only through a hideously oily, dirty puddle.
Brakes seem to work fine though, no squeaking, squealing, or rubbing.

Check the brake fluid level. If the stuff on the wheels is brake fluid the level has to be down.
And brake fluid is water soluble. See if the stuff rinses away with water. Wash it off at any rate. If brake fluid it can harm the finish on the wheels if they are painted/clear coated.
What it probably it is the tire shine. I had some dark fluid spots/streaks on my car's rear body panels and inside the wheel wells and it looked like brake fluid leaking so I took the car in and was told it was the tire shine the detailer uses when he does the car.
I asked this tire shine not be used on my cars.

It could be the heat, it's just that only the fronts are affected, probably wouldn't have thought twice if all four were showing the same thing.
Maybe the extra load on the fronts during braking, the variable airflow vs the fixed direction rears, who knows (probably someone but it isn't me!).
