Boxster 987 hardtop ? Fitting ? Best place to get one ?

I am considering getting a hardtop for my 987, was just wondering what will be involved to fit it to my car. Am I right in thinking some brackets have to be fitted ? Also are they generally pretty good ? I just abit worried about it rubbing on the paintwork and damaging it etc. finally where would be the best place to get on, just keep an eye out on ebay ? Or I'd there another option ? Sorry for all the questions and thank you for any response in advance .

You need spin locks to fit the hardtop, they bolt into part of the hood frame & on a 986 Boxster they are an absolute nightmare to fit.

I've read somewhere that on the 987 Boxster you have to actually take off the hood in order to fit the spin locks, although not sure if this is correct or not.

I've just sold a hardtop for a 986 which I had in the shed after my 986 got written off, I've now got a 987. The 987 has better lining in the hood than the 986 & personally I think the hardtop is a bit of a waste of time. I found when I had mine on my 986 in the winter & the weather was dry, I missed the opportunity of getting the roof down. Plus they're a pig to store when off the car.

Waste of time IMHO.

I specced one with my first 986 and never used it.
The 987 rag top is even better so I personally wouldn't bother.
