Got a set of near new Pzero Corsa in GT3 fitment - Value?
Discussion
Hi there
As I've decided against tracking the 911, I have a near brand new set of the newer version 2 Pirelli Corsa which was default fitment on 2010 GT3's. They are a 2010 manufactured tyre and done less than 1000 miles with one evening session track day.
Tyre condition is excellent, tread pattern is perfect. I was gonna leave them on the car but as it shall be mainly driven on road, I might as well re-fit my old Supersports if these Corsa's are worth anything.
What kind of value have they got £800-£1000 in near new condition, must be less than 0.5mm taken from them and of course I can get measured, tread is even across the tyre width.

how come mate?
To be honest its a big value car for me and tracking it is costing me an arm and a leg, plus to be honest it is always in back of my mind about the engine exploding, I really don't want a 10k repair bill. Had the engine inspected and its spotless and I believe the track usage would keep it that way, but at the same time with those chocolate made engine the IMS could let go.Plus I am always scared of throwing it off track, so I've purchased something cheap and more track focused to play with which if I blow it up or put into the gravel pit is not end of the world. That car is an E46 M3, which I am stripping and setting up, hoping to get it down to circa 1200kg so should be fun and shall be in it on Porsche day Sunday next week, my first track day in it. You gonna be there?

you want to save money but are tracking a M3 !!!
my CSL was the most expensive car I ran after the V8 M3
M cars are daft crazy to run on track and the brakes are crap.
Did you buy it with AP's already ? other wise you will be 3k in just on brakes.
then 3k on the Suspension and bits as it's a wallowing barge on track.
The rears are mega loose, RTAB go every time you press on, so you need a limiter kit to stop that also.
Then of course the strip out and set up with seats etc
Tyres are still quite big so that will also wipe you out on costs and mpg is well, about 8 on track.
I always said, if you want to track a car road car cheap, buy a Lotus.
I Loved my CSL , but I would not track one.
At least you can fit the PCCB back to your 911 :-)
but I am not sure where this money saving is going to come from running and setting up a M3 for track !!
See you on the 4th though :-)

^^^^^^ this is good advice. Definitely cheaper to just keep using your 997 and eat up the extra maintenance costs and if you're worried about the engine get it on Hartech's plan - won't cost much as they already inspected the involved stuff a few weeks ago. You will cost yourself more money running the M3 on top, as well as extra hassle and ultimately less fun & enjoyment, which after all is what it's all about.

See you next Sunday, you might have a chance of keeping up with the M3 as I'll be getting used to it.

I respect track day rules to the highest order and in no way would race or risk my car in such matters.
Following a friend who you know is another matter though as long as rules are followed to the book and respect is given on both sides.
Track days are the fun part of owning these types of cars, as long as others do not think it's a race all is well.
Unlike the Noble owner I had to endure for 3 laps at Donny Monday night, until instead of getting angry , I just came in the pits and let people with no respect for the rules get on with it. (of course after a reporting)
the last book a track day I did was also a shocker at the start , I again came in after 2 laps, while at least 5 black flags were waved to others and it all calmed down a bit.
some people do treat track days the wrong way, but at least Book a Track take things very serous and put a stop to the loons.
the rest of the day was fine :-)and Jonny is always very serious how his days are run.
NO one wants to come home in a bent car.
