so I'm trying to do a good deed, as my mother in law has just collected her 9 points (three times caught by the same camera) - in a Honda CRV. what speed camera detector would you recommend that is a) very easy to fit b) even easier to operate c) stands the best chance of protecting those precious 3 last points

she cant program the VCR so nothing complicated please

God bless mother-out-laws.
Try a block of wood under the gas pedal.

If it's same speed camera three times - forget the detector and buy her a memory course!

If she gets something like an origin b2 and has it professionally installed she will be fine until it needs updating... unfortunatley she will have to learn to RTFM like the rest of her generation.

My gran can't operate cordless phones and turns her alarm clock off at the wall (she'd probably turn off the TV at the fuseboard if she knew where the fuseboard was), so I empathise.

But most of these gadgety things are not compatible with numpties. Hence why both my mum and dad have 6pts apiece (should have been 9 for dad but he got off with a road safety lecture for 3 of them).

Even my father-in-law (a more honest and decent man would be hard to find) has collected three points.

Good luck with getting her something. Everything you could ever want to know is here:

be more observant.

If she has been caught by the same camera 3 times already then she is not being careful enough, and thus is a danger to herself and others.

If she gets done a 4th time by the same camera - she doesnt deserve to drive as her observation and car control is badly lacking. What else does she not see when she is driving?

sorry to be hash.

on a constructive note.... pay for her membership of the IAM or RoSPA.

(being an observer for Rospa myself)
