New Cayenne - Extended leather and Leather Dash or not?

An odd one folks but having driven the new FFRR (4.4 Diesel), new RRS (3.0 Diesel) and the new Cayenne (3.0 Diesel) my fiance and I are sold on the Cayenne. It seems to do all we need in terms of carrying people in relative luxury as well as being able to push on nicely on the Scottish B-roads and it's about £12k less that the equivalent spec RRS and £22k less than the FFRR. So, for me it's a winner.

However, the dealer doesn't have one with the extended leather or leather covered dash and I wondered if anyone can give me a real world PHer opinion of those options? For the £2150 it'll cost me is it worth it? The standard dash looked fine, i'm just used to seeing leather on my Disco 4 and the RR's both have leather.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I had this dilemma when and eventually went for the full leather as it just felt more luxurious..

One thing that did sway me was that the standard seats are not full leather (the dealers/salesmen keep this quiet), they are described as partial leather which means some parts of the seat are basically synthetic leather but the salesman could not tell me what sections were real and what were not.

I compared side by side and thought the standard leather looked a bit low rent.. I think the full leather should be standard but this is just typical of Porsche in that everything is an extra... The next question is it worth the 2k top upgrade? I would say its a matter of personal opinion but if you are going to keep it a while then go for it..

Would also recommend the adaptive seats and having the wheel arches colour coded

I've gone for the full leather, it's not just the dash and top of doors but you get a better quality of leather on the seats, makes the interior much nicer

Thanks for the responses folks.

The car will be the wifes (well she will be in Sept!) and it'll be a longtermer for us.

We went with the fully colour coded sports bodykit and the Turbo II wheels. I feel it looks the part.

Also gone for the 18-way seats and the dynamic ride. I felt the standard car we drove was sufficiently firm to handle but lacked a little finesse when the road got bumpier. I understand the dynamic ride has settings to dial this out.

Well I think that both of your comments have set my mind. The leather did feel a little ropey and I do like the plusher feeling car. £2k over the period we own it will be negligible.

I'm getting an A7 BiTDI as my daily so it'll be the fun daily anyway!

Unless you were going for a very basic spec, then the Cayenne really does need full leather IMO. If you plan to keep it long term, and it's an alternative to a RR then best to get the right options.
