Topping up oil on a 996 TT

As the TT has no dipstick I would guess that I have to rely on the electronic readout......though I have heard that this is not very accurate.
Its telling me that the level is quite low so I am going to fill it up, so :
Q1) Which oil (mobil 1 motorsport?)
Q2) Any other way of getting an oil level reading other than the electronic readout ?
Cheers

Hi,
I recently topped up the oil in mine, i was unsure on which oil so i asked my OPC, the confirmed it should be Mobil 1 (also wheen opening the boot there is a sticker saying to use Mobil 1)
When i was doing the check it required the engine to be warm, not cold? the check would not even run unless the car was well warmed up (i had do drive 3 or 4 miles to get it warm enough for the test to run) the manual also confirmed the engine needed to be wamred up. Yes it also stated it had to be a flat level.
Or maybe we are talking about different readings? i performed the oil level check with takes around 10-15 seconds?
Cheers
Matt

The electronic level is accurate, but I was told only when
1) the engine is stone cold
2) it is on a perfectly level surface

No adjusting settings required gents. As Matt has pointed out the manual says the car should be warmed up and the computer won't allow you to take a reading unless it is. As also mentioned parked on a flat surface for an accurate reading.
As for type of oil, I use mobil 1 0/40. Your service book should tell you what oil was last used. Interestingly no difference in price between buying 1 litre bottles at the OPC or Halfords.

Sorry but can you guys help me out too? just got the car.
I got the oil warning message at the end of a journey but promptly put the car away and haven't used it since.
Where do I get access to the "electronic level" and how do I run the oil level check?
Best Regards
