Becker Silverstone changer always reverts to CD1

My CD changer always starts from CD 1 Track 1 every time I switch the ignition on. It started doing this intermittently a couple of months ago, but now does it every time, and it's driving me crazy!

The head unit remembers other things like radio station, so I assume this is a problem with the changer itself or the wiring to it.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Where's the "intelligence" for remembering which song you were listening to when you last got out of the car? Head unit or changer?

Do you have the 2660 (CDC-3) or the Becker 7880.

The newer Becker is not fully compatible with CDR 21/22.

From the pictures I can see on the web it's the 7860, but I'll check tonight.
It's been working fine for around 10 months and the fault has been intermittent and getting progressively more "solid" over the last 2 months, so I doubt it's an incompatibility problem...
