Cayman headlight bulb change

Hoping someone can help advise how easy it is to change the bulbs in the headlights on a Cayman 987.
I looked in the manual and is looks like an accident about to happen, as I've not taken a light housing out before.

any advise would be much appreciated

it is the easiest bulb I've ever had to change on a car, all the info is in the handbook and also on YouTube,
just do a quick search,
the whole job takes no more than 5 to 6 mins

cheers fella, will have look at Youtube. just wanted make sure others have had no issues before i pop the headlight out.

i would imagine its the same as a Boxster
there should be a small tool in your kit
its Really simple, just be careful you line up the lugs when you put them back

I thought I'd add a little to this.
Mine is a 2007 Cayman.

There are youtube videos showing how to remove the light body from any Porsche. This is the same on the Cayman. The tool rocks the light forwards and you gently prise it out.

On the Cayman light body, I had 4 screws on the rear and 1 clip. Inside the standard H7 bulb was held in with a clip, the clip was fastened in place with a screw.

All screws were Xhead. I've included some pics to assist.

I'd recommend taking the light body indoors to change the bulb, the clip can "jump" out. Easy to find on a work bench / kitchen table. Hard on tarmac outside or in your garage.

Do have a "good" look at the clip and how it sits. I spent more time trying to work out how it sits after changing the bulb then the actual job. Mine jumped across the kitchen when I took off the screw and pulled it. Look for the hook on the plastic and how the clip fits into the groove where it is screwed in. It'll make sense. Don't force it.

As of March 2014, Halfords sold a standard H7 for £11.99

The job took only few minutes.

Note: If you start the car without the light body in, you may get additional warning messages about the indicator. These may not be resolved once the light body is in place. But, after turning everything off/on again, it should be resolved.
