Would you take a new Boxster and park in Tesco

Would you take your new Boxster (with a softop) into a supermarket car park and leave it while you go shopping.
I'm getting paranoid about using it for daily use.
7 years ago I had a brand new Focus ST and left it in a Tesco, admittedly underground, and it got keyed down both sides 11 days after I had got it. I stil use the same Tesco but now park outside.
Have PH'ers had bad experiences with damaged or cut fabric tops
Are there any precautions one can adopt to make it safer in a public place

First thing in morning perhaps I'm getting paranoid about using it for daily use.

You should expect it'll suffer some form of damage from time to time (keying, door dent, scuffed bumper), and just price this into your maintenance budget.

I take my 991 everywhere. And is bright blue. Honestly the UK is pretty good in regards to sports cars.
I am just paranoid about people slamming their doors into my metal, or not being able to parallel park without using the bumper-against-bumper parking sensors... So I just take my (read a LOT of) time to find the perfect space where am comfortable a door can be completely opened without reaching my car and there's enough space in general all around it.
Just normal precautions I guess. Which still cannot prevent the odd incident but can greatly minimise the chances of it happening. Fingers crossed it works well.
And I promise that after the first month you will be less precious about the car... :-)

I regularly take mine to our local Morrisons but there they have about five places near the trolley hut where there is a kerb and plant/shrub area. It's a little bit tricky getting into it which is probably why most shoppers can't be arsed to try to get the car in there but it is safe from door swinging idiots. I suppose some tit could push a trolley in it but you pay a pound for the trolley so they are always back in place where they should be.
When I park at Sainsbury's I park right over in the furthest area and walk people don't seem to like the walk either so my car is always on its own. You could always do what I used to do and park over two places but I had some old fart ranting about it a while back so I don't bother plus the parking gestapo sorry attendant takes a dim view on it as well.
So far just over a year my car is fine and the exercise has done me good.
