Aircooled Porsche - Best Chassis?

Knowing relatively little about the aircooled cars, I was wondering what the general consensus was on which era and indeed model had the best chassis, and why. Watching the Singer video, they talk about taking the best engine, the best chassis, the best styling cues etc etc, but I wonder on what quantifiable measure (presumably stiffness? / resistance to rust?) might allow one to conclude which model ostensibly sports the 'best' chassis.

I guess when they were considering the Singer stiffest would be considered best? what with a 400bhp lump being dropped in? Im not sure that for most and for fun road driving stiffest might always be the best.

I liked my 3.2 personally closely followed by the 964 I had. Probably unlike most I actually liked the bump steer on my 3.2 and coupled with some grippy rubber and fresh suspension you felt you were really wrestling with the wheel and getting involved in the drive.
