OPC pre reg new cars

Depends on mileage, i bought my Turbo S Cabriolet in Feb from OPC, was a Nov'12 build, reg'd in Dec'12 to OPC and i bought it for £110k with only 16 miles on clock which was a brand new car full spec...given the new Turbo S out later in year full spec is north of £140k...i feel i got a bargain...as i dont see a 'huge' difference in capabilities between 997 and 991 thats worth the price difference ;-)

Can't comment about Porsche specifically but dealers will do this to hit sales targets especially at the end of a quarter. Alf's Turbo being registered in December would tie in with that.
This was very common practice about 10 years ago when the UK was getting flooded with RHD imports from Europe. To avoid cutting the list price and/or being seen to visibly discount cars heavily the UK distributors were giving dealers incentives to sell the cars as "pre-registered" and thus be able to compete on price with all the RHD imports.

They must get some kind of allowance from Porsche - otherwise why wouldn't they just register it in your name this month? Maybe they are prohibited from discounting certain models ...... very common, just take pics of the mileage so when you come to sell it you can say you had it from new and the car was NOT a demo.Been offered a " deal " but only on the condition that it is pre reg then re reg in my name. In effect making it a secondhand car.
