Cayman forgets to lower window

Hi guys,
a small issue on my 07 Cayman S - in the morning it seems to "forget" to lower the window when you pull the door handle - it goes away after the engine is started - battery issue ?

I thought that, but it doesn't work with the external / internal door handle.. doesn't go away when key is pulled out and back in either.. only starting the engine seems to cure it. More annoying then a real issue but still !

What I gather is weird behavior of the door windows and door locks is a sign of water in the door. The symptoms start out confined to the door region but if ignored over time can migrate to more distant regions of the car which confuses the question of what's wrong.

Check the bottom of both doors for dampness and give the doors a shake in a quiet spot and listen for any signs of water sloshing.

Might as well check for any carpet dampness while you are there and check the body water drains under the panels on either side of the battery all of course under the front trunk lid.

Damn it! I will have a good touching session later, I read some threads about door seals going wrong and it looks like big bucks again....

well, the rain gods have listened and there was a heavy downpour. Not only the bottom of the door and carpet is bone dry, the window release works ok. I'm leaning towards microswitch....
