The process of transfer of warranty between private owners seems to have changed?
Looking at my current docs it needs to be signed over from the previous owner to the new purchaser. I don't recall this being the case previously. Looking at the fine print it appears you have just 14 days to do this post purchase - anyone been caught out?

Not sure that has changed, recall it being on my last policy, but like you most don't pay any attention to it when they first buy a car, if Porsche were strict with it I'm sure there would be more people on here moaning about void policies. Think OPC's like warranty work to much to turn down claims!!

As you say it must be something new, as I bought my car privately with the remains of a two year warranty in place and when I took it to the OPC I was informed it had a lot longer than the previous owner had stated so a pleasant suprise. It's due for renewal in March 2014 so I will make sure I have the facts right as it's a few bob to buy and silly to loose if you don't have the facts for the new owner (if I ever sell it)

I think that's the answer - just register yourself as the new owner with the dealer and all should just slot into place. jimmy p said:

Thanks, the 997.2 PDK is a brilliant car for all uses and would recommend it to anyone.
The 'mint' green 993 was a real 'marmite' car, some people loved it and others hated it. I really liked the 'different' look as I find some of the vanilla 993's a bit conservative looking, IMHO naturally. I actually tried to buy the mint green 993 back from the current owner a while back, but he says it's a keeper and his son has put a claim on it.
