997 C4S or 996 Turbo?

I'm currently suffering from the itch of wanting something else on the drive and much as I love my 996 C2 I'm considering options.
I'm thinking at the a decent C4S and a 996 Turbo must be around the same amount of money these days (I've not done mountains of research just yet, it's a bit of theory more than anything right now)?
Obviously the C4S is 50/60 bhp down but I'm not that bothered by power figures, anything over 300 is enough for me these daysmy C2 at 318.5 is perfectly quick for what I'm doing with it. That said I've loved the few times I've driven a turbo and been shocked at how quick I've been going without really "feeling" the speed.
Main issues are the 996 is older and though I don't hate the 996 interior like some, it is beginning to date. I'm moving and there will be no garage at the new house. I'd really like something 4wd to ensure its more of an all weather drive / commute.

I've become increasingly convinced about the benefits of AWD, in our recent wet and icy winters, although best to have the right tyres when it gets really bad.
Driven a couple of Turbos and can definitely see the appeal, but IMO the 996 is getting rather dated. 997 Turbo would be better.
Had a 997 C4S as a courtesy car a few years ago, with PSE, and recall really enjoying it. Think that might be my choice.

I have a 997 C4S (convertible) and have never been in a turbo. 997 benefits over the 996 are really all about how it looks inside & out, the power and drivetrain aren't that different. If you want a super fast car the turbo is lightyears ahead & the BHP difference of 65 doesnt tell the true story. If you want something that looks more modern inside & out, the 997 is the one. You need to try both but to throw a curveball in there is a 997 Turbo S (tip) at Northway for £39k!!!

Presumably you'll be able to find a 997 C4S within the Porsche warranty scheme, but most 996s will now be too old, so you'll have to go down the Hartech (or equivalent) route, which you might see as an advantage or a disadvantage?!
