Porsche Approved repairers...

A few years ago, when I had to have some bodywork done on my C4S, the Porsche approved body shop provided a document in a special 'Porsche approved' cardboard wallet, confirming the work that had been carried out and required a (free) annual inspection to maintain the paintwork warranty etc.

Is this still the case, or has the process changed???

Yes, I recieved something similar though the post when I had my rear valance resprayed in May.
