Who are the other 40 cars???
Look here www.easytrack.co.uk/events/view.asp?event_id=309&type=VIEW
Phew, someone gave me a shock! It is NEXT Sat isn't it?
The other "half" of the cars are from Lotus club or something, I think.
The track is a long track, open pit, I think you can have up to 70 cars on the track at any one time, and it won't feel "congested".
Thing about the Lotus is that you think you're catching them on the straight bit, then they leave you behind on the twisty bits, well, when I was driving anyway.

Hi
There are 100 cars in attendance. It is open pitlane and 55 cars are allowed out, but I find naturally only a third of cars are usually on track. Bedfrod is a large circuit approx 4 miles and wide enough so there is enough room for everyone.
Sign on Starts at 8am, so be there early
Yes it is the 30th. A very widespread of Porsches, lots of GT3's and there is also a Carrera GT coming, this osunds awesome and the noise alone will make the day for a lot of people.

CARRERA GT!!!!!
OMG.
how come its just appeared on the easytrack website...
Ive had no info from them on it.?
100 cars is nothing.
Believe me on theGT circuit it wont seem crowded.
Ive done RMA days there with 120+ cars and its still not that busy.
The track is huge.

Ok, well for anyone who hasn't done Bedford GT circuit (I don't even know where bedford is!), I'll share my homework with you in the form of this video link of a skyline doing it (although somewhat raggedly!)
http://nysd.co.uk/~blowdog/movies/bedford/blowdog_r34_v_bedford02.mov
I've spent the last week swatting up using my circuit guides book www.circuitguides.com which goes into it quite deeply. Highly recommended as it covers all uk venues in great depth.
Track day technique? Look at (best to print it all first) www.circuitdriver.co.uk down left hand side. Lots of interesting stuff regarding the why's and how to's of it all.
I've also got www.anthonydunn.co.uk as my instuctor for half the day, so in all, if any tosser who's never done a track day before comes past me in his fiesta xr2, i'm gonna be seriously pi$$ed!

Anyone got anything thro the post about this one? i.e sign on times etc? I've got nowt, guessing sign on should be 8-8.30ish? & is the fastrak sign on the same place & times as for the Easytrack bods?
Aim to arrive there around 8.00-18.15am
I am sure SeanD will meet us in the car park.
Bedford are fairly efficient once you arrive,, straight away the car is noise tested and stickered. You park in the arrivals car park and then go straight to the nearby registration hall before the briefing at 9.00am...follow the crowd...
After briefing it is a short drive to the circuit, where normally we go out in groups for 10-15 mins. There is no overtaking an a 50mph speed limit. This sounds dull but is an excellent way to introduce newcomers to the circuit.
The oopen pit sessions normally start from 10.00am,,,breaking for an hours lunch then concluding at 5.00pm.
Iguana no doubt we will catch up there and I can hold your hand for the complex procedures early on,,always happy to help the trackday novice
Aceparts, if you are worried about someone passing you on your first visit to a particular circuit, please let me know what colour your car is so that I can keep out of your way

It really is not that crowded at all most of the time, you can come in for 5 mins and then go back out again when it is clear.
I have done late afternoon laps when I have felt like I was the only one on the track.
I may have sounded harsh in my previous comment, but there are quite a few corners to learn and don't underestimate some of the other cars. There will be quite a few Lotus there,,,,a standard looking Elise with Honda 2.0 CTR lump goes very well and Don Palmer is often there driving a Noble or other cars...I reckon he could pass me in an XR2 quite easily.

No offence taken. The refference to an XR2 was made with a thought of my spotty 18 year old nephew who's just bought one.
Anyhows, I'd like to meet Don again. I'm sure he could pass me on his bicycle, probably sideways, with his hands off the bars laughing!
I was told a funny storry by a keen track day enthusiast who had an F50 type of kit car thing with 500bhp, who in the wet was being taken on every corner by an instructor in a montego estate diesel!

Hi Guys
There is an email due to go out later this week.
But yes Sign on starts at 8am. Everyone (Fastrak and Easytrack) sign on at the same place with the same people. I will be at the sign on desk, so if you need any assistance just ask.
I am praying for a dry day and the forecast is good so far.
Cheers Sean
