Why do they have no choice? It's a fundamental shortfall of the forums. You can compliment and recommend people but as soon as you have a bad word to say....

And I'd say the negative feedback is potentially more valuable than the positive.

Not the case. Third parties who feel they have been defamed through PH can, and have, pursued those they perceive have the deepest pockets: usually Haymarket rather than the individual poster.
