intermediate shaft bearing

Hi guys,
I need some help, I want to change the intermediate shaft bearing on an 05. 911.
I have read and seen all the usual videos etc, but is it that simple, and where can I get the bearing and the kit of tools to complete the job.

I believe that it is a very tricky job, in fact some specialists don't recommend changing it in situ.

I can't remember why though.

My take on it is that I'd rather the whole car is taken to a recognised specialist for everything else to be checked out at the same time. If this is for a precautionary IMS change, different matter. The impression is that this is not a simple job to be done "in situ".

LN Engineering ceramic Bearing and tools available from Autofarm. The bearing can only be changed in situ on early 2005 cars as the later ones have a different design and require a full engine tear down to replace. There are a number of specialists offering this replacement service depending on your location. I wouldn't tackle this job myself, rather leave to an experienced specialist. You have to be sure that the intermediate shaft is not damaged by the bearing failure.
