Given the mileage I don't think the 4 year gap is a massive issue by itself.
However, I would want to know why and what it was used for during this time. If the 4k is track miles then that's a totally different story! Was it off the road? If so why?
In any case, as long as all of the proper checks are done and it checks out then go for it.

Hi Slippy, Its Guards but I had to check as the photo is not that conclusive. Is it Guards or Zanzibar ?Molly - good point on mileage.
I have it booked for an OPC inspection next week as its far from me in Nottingham.
Will then travel up there next week and pick up it all good!
Do they report on paintwork as part of 111 point check?

I'd have a good Porsche indie garage do the ppi check rather than OPC. I don't know whether the OPC check is as comprehensive as you would want on such a lovely bit of kit.Molly - good point on mileage.

With drpep on this one Lee, get it to a specialist indie, OPC's in general don't have the in depth knowledge that a specialist indie will have gained over the years of fettling the GT cars. A specialist that drives one or two a week will pick up stuff that an OPC teccy who drives one once in a blue moon, won't.Looks like a lovely car. I'd jump on that if it checks out

Lee, the 111 check is only a visual check on bodywork for obvious current accident damage. I don't think it goes into detail regarding panel fit and paint depth.

I have managed to organise a paint depth report and condition also.

You have asked the question so when you come to sell it potential buyers will also ask the same question.
In my opinion it is not ideal but liveable with on a Porsche, especially as Red Mk1's are rare cars.
If it was a Ferrari I would walk away as a four year gap regardless of miles becomes a massive issue and would seriously limit your buying market come selling time.
