New Tyres / New Geo?? GT3 RS

Hi,

I hope this hasn't been covered before but if it has I can't find it - I need new tyres on my 2010 GT3 RS.

I saved loads by buying them from Black Circles, and my OPC Porsche West (who could not match the price) are happy to fit them for £160.

Now they have asked if I need a Geo Set up for the new tyres.

Having just done the current ones in at Snetterton last week, where the geo felt and looks OK from the wear pattern.

What is the best advice on this - do I need it checked for the new tyres?

£160 to fit tyres that's a record

my OPC fitted my tyres for £40.

As for geo, that's up to you, but I would not use your OPC if they want £160 just to fit tyres !!!!

That is a mental price for tyre fitting! I pay £10 per tyre at my local tyre fitter and use then for all my cars including the GT3.

As for geo, if the car felt good and the wear on the old tyres is nice and even across the whole tyre I'd be reluctant to change anything.

Personally with centrelock wheels I'd go with the OPC, mine did it for less that £100 which I was fine with, no geo suggested or in my opinion required.

OPCs do charge more for centre lock wheel fitting compared to 5 studs. To be fair, it does take them a little while, although no more than an hour. Get them to throw something in to sweeten the price!
