Weekend around the Evo Triangle - lunch/road recomendations

A group of us are off to Wales and staying in the Evo trianlge area, travelling from Yorkshire. I am just starting to put together a road book and was after recomendations of routes and lunch stops on the way or in the area that anyone has used.
It looks like we are in for a fun weekend as a first look shows some great roads.

Lake Vyrnwy Hotel
From the A5 leg of EVO triangle take the B4501 to Bala. From Bala take the B4391 to Llangynog, the hotel is signposted from Llangynog.

When I last went to the Evo Triangle with some pals, we stayed and ate at the famous Groes Inn outside Conway as it was a bit of a half way house for our trip to the Anglesey circuit the next day. It was very good. There should be a picture of some of our cars on the wall of fame in the gents!!

I'm planning a weekend North Wales myself at the end of this month but haven't even begun to plot a route. I'd be grateful if you could post your route here.

whilst there are significantly better driving roads on your proposed run than the A5, I suspect you will at some point find yourself on it either between sections or getting to from your destinations.
I was there last weekend and there were a number of very sneaky mobile speed traps positioned on the A5 just before and after it intersects the Evo Triangle
so be careful

I drove the EVO triangle today (in a 458 Spyder). Agree, it's not the best driving road in Wales - there are some excellent roads, inc the B4391, with smoother asphalt longer straights and better viz. However, it does provide a great route, over which to really test and assess the qualities and capabilities, or otherwise, of any car.
Personally, I think it's best enjoyed at a sensible pace. It is a public road, not a race track, and it is policed (often used by police training instructors in unmarked Skoda VR6s).
