981 Cayman door unlocking

Hi

Can anyone else with a 981 Cayman confirm if my car unlocking is correct.
Other day opened rear boot to drop something in and heard doors unlock, shut boot it clicked but doors remained unlocked.
I have tested it by opening rear boot and not touching doors but they stop unlocked.
I know if you unlock the doors and leave them without opening for a certain period they lock again but would have thought the boot should not unlock rest of car.

So is this normal and do I have just to lock car again?
Or is this a fault?

Normal. It locks everything again after you shut the boot if you have not opened the door.

Looks like a trip to the dealership.
Tried today, opened and closed boot. Did not touch doors, went back after ten minutes and still not locked.

I think it does that so you cannot lock the key in the boot.

My Boxster doesn't and experience echoes the OP - if I open either boot using the key then the whole car unlocks. Closing the boot does not re-lock the car, I have to lock it again manually

OP - manual suggests it is normal, it says that if either boot is unlocked then the doors unlock too. It's only if you unlock the car but then don't open any doors or boots at all that it re-locks itself after 30 seconds (again from the manual) - this is certainly what mine does anyhow

Seems I should have read the manual more thoroughly.
Afraid I read it through on first getting car to see what everything did then put it away.
Most if it seemed to relate to options I had not speced.

Although the car will allow itself to be locked with the boot open, which I think is a problem. If you have a dumb moment and put your keys down in the boot to pick something up, then close the boot, you'll be disappointed.

Actually, this is on a 2013MY Box. I did complain to the dealer and got the 'they all do that sir' response, but I'd be interested if the 2014MY still do it or if the cars have been changed.

if you have keyless go or Porsche entry and drive, you can't lock your key in the car.

as standard keyes are not detected by the car unless near or inserted in the ignition, this issue no doubt remains in 2014 cars.

Yes, I did this with a previous 987 Boxster and felt worse than dumb. Have never done it since.
