993 Bilstein needed

hi
i have a leaking strut on the OS of my 98 993C2S. i need a new one quick smart. I'm not sure of the model no but its the green one.
what or where is my best bet?

If your C2S is a Row version, then it will have the M033 lowered suspension as standard.
With these springs, you can use Koni FSD for max comfort or Bilstein B8 for a ride that is a bit sportier.

I would say your running Monroes (which are green) if memory serves a C2S runs lowering springs with standard shocks. Also I thought it was best to fit in pairs.

If it is Monroes, be prepared to be fleeced. BTW call OPC for a quote, I've found them cheaper than anywhere else, but they aint cheap.

I shall give Bilstein a call. The turnaround time is a bit inconvenient so i may buy a new unit and flog the recon one to recoup some of the cost.

I still think they are monroes, but then again I can be a stubborn bd at times, and quite often wrong.

If they are Monroes then the someone history in its was unhappy with the branding and put Bilstein stickers and branding on them!!

Yep, had all four rebuilt (like many other GT3 owners) by the Bilstein guys in Broughton Astley!

so i stand very corrected , the garage rang to advise they are in fact monroe items....so my question is can they be rebuilt like the bilstein or am i looking at a new strut at £350 plus plus....?

The Monroes made for the 993 are by far the most crappy shocks in the universe.
Yank them out and replace all 4 with something decent as suggested in my previous post.

Update for those with noting else to do....
Ordered a full set of Bilstein B8 from Carnewal.
so new discs and pads and a set of Bilstein should improve matters....
ill update as appropriate.

He he, I wonder who put bilstein stickers on them :-)

To honest, if the wife hadnt just lost her job, a full set of dampers, top mounts and m033 (a la C2S) would have been my next purchase on the C2.

I looked around on what to change too, and came to the opinion that if I'd gone ahead it would have been as she came out the factory (other than the springs). I personly think the ride as standard is pretty good and the complete kit including new mounts was a smidgen under 2K. They may only last 40k miles, but that will be 8 years of driving for me.
