Ruf 2 year warranty Boxster 3.8 conversion 400hp

19,500 euros, get you an engine conversion for my 2.9 pdk boxster 2011 gen 2 car to a new 3.8 dfi Porsche engine 400hp hp. I can think of plenty of reasons for and against, brakes 2500 euro extra suspension extra, what do you all think?

Price aside that would make an epic car! What do they do gearbox wise?

I think the 2.9 is the sweeter engine.

That said, it depends on where you drive and your own style of driving. I have driven all types of PDK cars through the welsh mountains at night and the 2.9L Boxster was the best overall drive.

I would never say never with the 3.8L, I just think the fantasy is better than the reality. I saw a video where the Boxster 3.8L was so fast through the corners, it was bordering on silly and the noise was incredible.

It requires a very special man maths calculation to make that add up!

Their own Boxster 3.8 is £120k.

But they will fit one to a car and warranty it for 16k

I also bet you could sell your engine for a very nice Ammount.

So take a carbon braked Cayman R and the only question is, can the gearbox and the rest of the running gear handle the extra torque ?

It would be fun finding out ...

easy handle the extra.
YOu have guys running turbo cars with over 500 bhp and big torque.

Cayman R as you say with a 3.8 engine would be great to try out.

you could just do this a lot cheaper or have your local opc fit a new 3.8 which will come with a 2 year warranty!

I don't think a OPC would supply and fit a 3.8 for that price.

I am not sure Ruf will either, that's just a price posted here.

Selling the old engine is def the way forward on this though as they are worth many £1000's

I thought a new 3.8 engine was about £14k alone all in with out any fitting.
