I'm considering selling my 928, and would like to know how you guys think I should describe its servicing history.

I bought the car in March 2003 from an OPC, 'with FPSH', and with 12 month warranty. The car is 1988 S4, and when I bought it, it had done only 24k miles. The car had spent almost its entire life as a garage queen in Guernsey, hence the low mileage. Now I've bought a few cars from said OPC in the past, and because of a mix up over the whereabouts of the service book at the time of purchase, never actually checked it.

Anyway, it turns out that the car has only been serviced 3 times since registration - each time at an OPC, one after 3k miles, another at 12k, and the third at 24k, when I bought it. How do you guys think I should describe this history when selling it?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Unfortunately the service intervals will be specified in years or mileage, whichever comes first, so effectively you don't have a FPSH, however I don't know if this will have too much impact on resale as long as the recent history is good and it is still low mileage.

Thanks Greig - the 36k service is now due - should I go OPC or specialist/independent before selling?

Cheers

Its a tuff one to answer, 928's dont really like to hide away as they can sulk when asked to work again. Has your car been left in a heated garage and started up once a week or just left to its own. Their are not many around with that kind of mileage and as i said its a tuff one to answer. Get the car checked out by loe bank motors in bury or paul anderson in stroud they are the best for 928's.
