European driving suggestions

hi all

anyone able to recommend a decent European driving holiday websites or routes? I was thinking of driving down to Lake Como in italy, i always wanted to drive through the alps as well.

Any advice appreciated.

Italy gets too busy for my liking, France is full of Gendarmes totting speed guns.

Northern Spain and Pyrenees all the way, I absolutly love it. Ferry to Santandar, empty roads, fab tarmac, enjoy. We usually do around 2K in four days and most of that is through the mountains.

From my experience, steer clear of Italy as on the whole the roads are rammed. It's ten years since I drove through france without getting done for speeding so I'd avoid there aswell. If the reason for your mission is driving rather than sight seeing, then ferry to santander and just go south and west, mile upon mile of empty roads and near deserted land. But nothing for a tourist.
