Finally picked up my 1990 964 C4 Cab at the weekend!

Bought in June, driven home in a monsoon!

It's been a long, long wait! Why the delay?

Well you know how it goes, everything must be just right!

The engine is leaking oil
OK I'll pay super-retail price to have the engine rebuilt and all other mechanics sorted.

Who do you want to do it?
Erm Steve at Jaz as he does Henry's car, very busy big wait

Don't like the D90 wheels,
Cup wheels from eBay
Just add to the bill

The wishbones are probably knackered best get some new ones
You can trust in eBay
Just add to the bill

Don't like the flag mirrors
Guy's can you fit cup mirrors?
Just add to the bill

Sprog needs a car seat fitted
Guy's can you fit a car seat?
Just add to the bill

Don't like the steering wheel
Guy's can you fit a three spoke wheel?
Just add to the bill

That hood is completely knackered
Guy's can you fit a new hood?
Just add to the bill

Ah I need to add some new plastic wheel centres
they can't be too expensive can they?
but they're just plastic!
Just add to the bill, what is it now?

Phew that was easy I can take it home now

Took it round to cerbie owning mate on Sunday where some champagne
was popped - which was nice!

So what do I think? Haven't had the chance to drive it much, and I'm
limited to 4000rpm for now, but early indications are (sprog likes it too!!).

A big thank-you to Henry, Dan and particularly Tom at 911 Virgin for all
the hard work you put in organising all my requests!

(I've just used more smileys here than I've ever used before or am likely to
use again )

Congratulations - the pain of the bill will be eased by the first sunny day (once you've got over the tiresome running in period)! Sounds like she's good as new.

My kids also love being in the back of a porker, though "faster daddy, faster!" gets wearing after a while when you're nosing through a traffic jam.

Enjoy.

You've got a great suprise coming - they only wake up at 4,000 rpm. Young Henry had my old 964 in yesterday - in a glorioulsy mpulsive moment I rang and tried to buy it - seeing the picture was like meeting a first love all over again.

However the path of true loves rarely runs smoohtly - he had already sold it

Looks like I'm going to have to wait another 3 years or so!
