Porsche vs Lamborghini vs Prodrive Meet

Hey folks. Just thought I'd post up a few photos I took over the weekend as I thought you might find them interesting. I was lucky enough to be invited to a cruise/lunch/prodrive factory tour with a group of Porsche's that was organised by one of the porsche forums.

The day started at Lamborghini Pangbourne. I arrived to be greeted by upwards of 10 Porsches (including a gorgeous Carrera GT), as well as some fine Lamborghini exotica.





Craig at Lamborghini was kind enough to put on a decent bit of breakfast and gave us a mini tour of their service centre and showroom. From here, we went on a 'spirited' drive (sticking to speed limits throughout) towards The Mole Inn in Toot Baldon (really nice food/pub, well worth a visit if you're local).







To my delight I got the opportunity to have a passenger ride in the Carrera GT.. It's hard to put my feelings into words but it was nothing short of AMAZING and the owner really was a top bloke. By far the quickest accelerating car I've been in and it wasn't too shy on the corners either. I remained on a bit of a high from this point onwards - I've always had a thing for Carrera GTs and never even thought I'd get the chance to go in one.



After fending off the crowds that gathered in the car park to gawp at all the cars we settled down for a spot of lunch.





From here, we took a slightly more relaxed (full stomachs!) drive to Prodrive for a tour of their factory. We were given a personal tour of their museum and research/production facilities. What was great is that we had a chance to sit in some of the cars they'd collected over the years. Was great fun squeezing into the GT3 Aston Martin and the Metro 6r4!









Couldn't have asked for a better day. Great weather, great company and a great selection of cars.

Thanks for the tip about the Inn. I've got a supercar day booked at Prodrive at the end of October.

Do all tours of the factory have to be prebooked? Would love to have a look round (and a play on the airfield!)

I'd imagine you'll probably need to book both parts (the inn and prodrive). We got to the inn for 12 and by 12.30 it was packed out. The prodrive tour was run by one of their marketing managers so I doubt you can just show up (she was a proper petrol head).

Are you doing your supercar experience through Everyman? What cars have you chosen? I was there in July, was a good day out.
