Getting an aircooled 911 as a DD

Finally picked up my new DD. It's a '76 gold 911 narrow body with a 3.0l engine transplant - done in 2004 as part of a full restoration.



Child seat fitted in the back - check.
Winter tyres ordered - check.
Underseal done? - check.

Wish me luck! Anyone else running an aircooled 911 as a daily driver? Am I bonkers?

I love that! A proper period colour combo.

Kudos for running it daily. Every mile I drove I'd be crying about the salt attacking everything from floorpans to fasteners, but hey if you have the means, then why the heck not. Brilliant!

Used mine commuting through London as a DD a few years back and never ever let me down - it's a cliche but it does make each day better

Thanks folks. Was indeed the one at Paul Stephens. Got great support and service from Charlie and George.

Car seat is a Concorde Ultimax (set up forward facing). Fits into the rear just fine. Also fits a 964.

I'll be keeping it garaged but using it most days. Had the underseal done properly though - want to avoid the rust as much as possible and keep it nice.

Sure it feels a bit primitive next to a more modern hatch, but its a lot more fun and people seem to let me out if junctions...
