997 Carrera - corroded exhaust nuts, bolts & clamps

Had my 6 year old 997 Carrera 2 coupe in for a service at OPC Wilmslow today. All fine, apart from the above. Quoted £409 for replacement. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did it cost to sort out? £409 sounds very steep to me: only £94 for the parts, the rest is labour.

Specialists in that area would charge around half that amount.

Quite common failure of the exhaust nuts and fixings. We replace all the securing bolts with stainless steel. Factory fixing metal quality is very poor.

Very common - along with corroded tandem oil pump.
Good job for indy - why pay OPC rates for a job like this.
Also indy will replace with stainless bolts.

As a guideline, I've recently had the exhaust back boxes modified on my 997 (06 plate, ~55k miles) and the cost to remove and refit, including all new clamps etc was £300. This was in Uxbridge.

Thanks everyone. One thing that does bother me is that Porsche won't cover these under warranty as they say it's a wear and tear item. Seems to me like the components weren't up to the job though, so I'd've thought that they should cough up.
