Racing Plugs Anyone?

I've got a 2001 996 3.4 litre that came with the factory, switchable sports exhaust. I recently popped a K&N induction system on it and had it remapped. It was producing a disappointing 253bhp at the wheels (the tuners suggested it should have started with over 270bhp). The remap netted 281bhp - the only real effect you can feel on the road is a slightly stronger and more linear rise in power through the rev range rather than the rather sudden onset of power at 4000rpm.

So to my question: the tuners asked me about the plugs, which I had to admit I hadn't changed for quite some time. They suggested I replace them with "cooler" plugs. The type used for racing plugs. I'm thinking of getting the Denso Racing plugs offered by Design911.com.

Anyone tried these on a road car?

Are you getting your crank and wheels power mixed up..?

They left the factory with 296bhp at the crank which would be about 251 at the wheels.. so you're about right.. a remap on an atmo will give you maybe 10-15 more, so 281 isn't bad at all at the wheels..!

The figures I give were measured on the dyne, so I assume they are "at the wheel".
