997.1 gt3 good time to buy?

There doesn't seem to be a great number of these cars about right now.
I read a post that suggested once the track day season ends more will come on.
but it hasn't happened yet...

This seems like a great spec, anyone (apart from the seller!) know this car?

PCCB at 30k miles a potential problem perhaps?

There was glut of about 60 997 GT3s at one stage but that number has reduced rapidly in the last couple of weeks ?.
That one stood out to me as well as personally I love cobalt blue and the spec and history look good.

Personally I prefer to have matching brake calipers and seat belts as the yellow on its own doesn't suit my eye but apart from that it looks great.

For some reason blue porsches don't seem to be everyone elses cup of tea but IMHO they are far better than the boring silver, grey, white etc....

Just wish my 991 GT3 order could be aqua or cobalt as I find the new sapphire blue a little too soft and light ( washed out ) for an aggresive car.

Bet it looks stunning in the sunlight and will stand out. Good luck with it yours for £50k I'm sure

I drove a GT3 997.1 on a Porsche Experience Day in 2007, which IIRC was held at Millbrook (on track and on road). That car was an identical spec and colour (Colbalt/buckets/pccbs) and I do recall the day very fondly - nice colour, fantastic car. I also think Sapphire will look good on the 991 GT3. I've seen SB on a 991 and it changes quite dramatically with the light - from deep and vivid to light and subtle.

The spec is spot on, PCCB second hand might be a worry ??

The only issue remains whether 997.1 will be the forgotten GT3 model and second hand values will suffer
The final analogue car will be the .2 GT3 with leaves .1 sort of nowhere ?

Having said that they are 20k more to buy!

I guess movement on 996 GT3 RS will start a domino ish effect on all GT3's as when one goes out of reach it's natural to look a bit further along the bloodline

Let's be honest all GT3 are fairly fab in there own way

I think money into a 997.1 GT3 or GT3 RS is more than safe likewise a 997.2

Regarding PCCB providing not abused and wheels removed carefully should have a long lifespan and great not living with masses of brake dust

The 997.1 GT3 is such a good car it wont ever be forgotten, as the 996 GT3 goes up this will hold up the cost of 997's, as time goes on things like the centre lock wheels with replaceable hub items and possible long term issues with the 3.8 lump on the 997.2 GT3 may go against it compared to the 997.1? or maybe it will be a classic?
Who knows what will happen but if you buy one at current prices I can't see you losing a lot of money in the short term and who knows in the long term they might even go up again, but every time you drive it I guarantee the last thing you will be thinking about is depreciation.
