Cayman service interval

I bought my 2006 Cayman 2 years ago when it had 22,000 miles on it. It had been serviced in 2008 (minor service) and 2010 (major service) so had maintained the 2 year service intervals as the mileage was so low.
Last year I had a minor service done - I'd done about 36,000 at this point so was still on the 2 year intervals
Now I'm up over 40,000 but it's only a year (and 5,000 or so) since the last service. So do I get another (major) service now or wait until next year and get a major done?
By the way, best car I've ever had etc, more fun than a netball team.

I've just bought a 2006 Cayman S.
I know that the official service intervals are 20,000 miles/2 years but I've always had my cars on a 10,000 miles/1 year service schedule and I was planning to do the same with the Cayman S.
Leaving the same oil in a car for 2 years just doesn't seem like a good idea.
