Yorkshire Big Breakfast - Specialist Cars Of Malton

I've never been before so it was with a little excitement that a friend and I set off at 7.15am to get there.

We arrived to the traditional October weather (drizzle) and other than missing the sign for the entrance to the estate (one way only due to the numbers arriving), we managed to park fairly close on the road just after 8am, by which time there were a few already there. I think the road is in the process of being resurfaced as there were a few raised manhole covers that caught a few low cars out - hope that gets sorted soon!

The bacon was already cooking and obviously drew us in - sumptuous and just what we needed, followed by a hot cuppa to wash it down as we drank in the atmosphere of fellow petrolheads, whether you were in an F reg old school Fiesta or a newish Aston Martin, despite the weather everyone seemed in good spirits.

I was surprised to see their facilities spread out over three separate units, but that gave us something to explore. The police presence was unobtrusive and quite sensible - thankfully everyone behaved too.

Some absolutely stunning machinery in the showroom, and ongoing projects in the workshop looked great!

And a special mention for the Hogroast guys, absolutely gorgeous!!

I have to say a massive thanks to Specialist Cars of Malton and all who helped organise today's event! I look forward to next years...

Always worth getting out of bed for.

The Mk2 Escort looked fun and glad to see the brave soul out in the Lambo too. The obligatory reverse with the door up drew a crowd.

Those raised manhole covers have bern there for years.

Only downer for me was the damp squib that is the North Yorkshire Constabulary and their efforts to catch as many people as is physically possible on the A64 - I've never seen as many cameras on that road (and there are usually plenty on most days).

However, I suppose that this was inevitable given the 'parking' efforts of the fool in the mustang in March, which is a great shame as the guys of Specialist Cars go massively out of their way to put on the event, proved catering and raise some loot for charity.

Some nice motors there, but the Yorkshire weather cannot have helped the attendance levels, which might put a dent in NYP's fund raising effort - maybe their Xmas party will have to be downsized this year......haha

I couldn't go today so popped in yesterday to see their preparations, --- it was the utterly lustful '74/75 3.0 RS that got me going !!

But there's always plenty of candy to ogle in the SCoM candy shop

How much is the Gruppe car?

Only thing, £80k puts it on the way to 911s money and they seem to be on the way north at a rate of knots at the moment

Madness at that price unless u don't care about the price. Privately you'd be looking at 40-45k tops if u wanted out.

Hence the reason it's still there over 12 months on I suppose

There would be lots of other £80k's in the pocket needing spending first before I got to this particular £80k, but it is still a pretty car

I'm sure it's a fairly recent addition to their stock ... but easy to check !!
