Early 997 Carrera with 80k miles - would you?

I'm going to see a car today; it's done 80k, had new clutch and tyres in last 1k miles, it's got FPSH and has nearly a years extended warranty. It is a 3.6 but also very heavily loaded.I can get it for £20k so assuming its in the excellent condition described... Would you? Would the mileage put you off? Is it good value?

Depends mostly how long you plan to keep it, but seems a good deal.

More than two years ago I nearly bought an early 997 C2 which at the time had 77k miles on it and it was being sold privately (no warranty) for £19k.

If it is in a good condition and has a warrant from a reputable dealer/OPc, then surely, yes, I would do it, as it represents quite a good value for money

I did the same, got a 997 3.6 with just over 70k on the clock for a bit more than you are quoting. It's so much car for the money. I don't know that 20k could be better spent on a car. Only stuff to watch out for is wear and tear stuff that's not covered by warranty and could need replacing. I just had a PASM failure and that's a £1000 Buks just for two shocks, excluding labour. If you are prepared for stuff like this then it is an amazing prospect. I moved on from my 996 and Boxster before that and I can honestly say that this is the best all rounder, especially in everyday driving. Has yours got the PASM option?

I didn't think you could get OPC warranty on cars over 9 years old? An early 997 may be on the cusp.

Yes it's got the OPC warranty but cannot be extended after it expires. Unfortunately I had a bit of a meltdown this morning and didn't manage to get to see the car but I am hoping to go tomorrow or Monday.
