Porsche Colchester loan car

Took my 997.1 Turbo in for a minor service yesterday. Loan car was a base manual Cayman with a 13 plate and 9k on the clock. Very nice and all that but I'm failing to see what all the fuss is about in normal road driving. That said, service efficiently done and no particular hard sell on anything. Happy camper.

Brand new Cayman S from Hatfield - only done 500 miles! Red with red trim inside and red dials. Smells lovely and goes very well but am missing my 997.1S. Should be done for this coming Weds.

Presuming its the "Cayman is the new 911" statement that some like to promote.

I see, thank you. It would depend on when you thought that real 911s stopped. I think that watercooled 911s are the new 928...

A 911 is a 911 end of.forget all this crap about air cooled and water cooled. The cars have a time line that can't be argued

I agree, Porsche should be a sports car maker, the 981 does not feel like a sports car to me.
I also don't get the hype on these new cars, rather buy a Audi and have change in my pocket as once speced up you also need to add 12k of options.

In auto car drivers car of the year it did not fair well either, where as back in 2011 a Cayman R won the title beating even GT3’s and other such super cars.

I waitied a year or so for the new Cayman to be launched and was quite disappointed in it and the new Boxster.
They are just nice cars to own now, not a car you want to take out for fun.
