Leaving the Porker for up to three months

Hi All,
I'm shortly going to be going away with business for up to three months. I know from past experience that the car wont start after about a month. The car is parked on my drive not garaged. As I see it I have three options:
- disconnect battery (alarm and tracker wont work then!)
- trickle charge (wiring an issue as would need to run charger through air brick from cellar in to car)
- leave it to go flat and then bump it when I get back (will the alarm sound or anything when the battery goes flat?).
What would you do in this situation? I'm probably leaning towards the trickle charger but wanted to make sure I havent missed anything obvious.

I would disconnect the battery.
Only, if your boot has an electric release, you need another battery to open it afterwards. Or remove yours completely and use that.
Re chargers, not so sure, my car does not seem to go to sleep when on charge, eg boot and engine cover lights don't go off (boot open) when on charge but they eventually do when off charge. Possibly also the dash illumination but I can't confirm that.
Just a thought, maybe it's no problem.
I also don't like the idea of external electrics, transformers, etc connected and likely sitting inside the vehicle for extended periods of time.
I would NOT let the battery go flat. Not good for the battery.
Eventually the alarm battery will deplete, whatever you do, what happens then is that you could charge the battery fully when disconnected but upon starting the V-drop triggers the alarm.
To avoid this happening if you need to charge a battery I would first charge it up fully when disconnected, then connect it and put it on charge again for a couple of hours max so the alarm battery is charged sufficiently to stop this happening.
You may need to follow the set-idle procedure when you reconnect the battery, depends on your car and no big deal at all.

My 996 turbo does - and even enters deep sleep after 5 days. So must depend on model.mrdemon said:

My 996 turbo does - and even enters deep sleep after 5 days. So must depend on model.Perhaps it's to do with the voltage that the charger puts out, perhaps a trickle one will allow systems shutdown.
