Can I replace the Porsche crest on the steering wheel centre

The Porsche crest in my 2003 996 steering wheel has been damaged and i wonder if its easy to replace. i have a OE replacement one but not sure if its an easy job to remove the old one from the centre of the steering wheel. has anyone done/tried this ?

Isn't that where the airbag "lives" I'd leave well alone if I were you!!
