There has been some nonsense written recently in the newspapers about the CGT and even dubious quotes from Walter Röhrl. This clip (in German) is a comparison of the the CGT with the GT2 RS.

I have (very roughly!) translated the two pieces from Walter Röhrl at 0.56 and 3.35 (sorry but too lazy to do the whole piece!!)
"You don't have the feeling with the CGT that you are sitting in a classic car. Quite the opposite. The CGT is much more of a race car [than the GT2], much more emotional. That comes from the motor, the sound, the throttle response/feedback from the car and the stiffness of the chassis. You notice how agile the CGT is and that is because when it was developed it was with motorsport and racing in mind and that Porsche wanted to show just what they could do."
"The main point is the tyres. The tyres on the CGT are a 10-year old construction and what has happened in the past 10 years in the development of tyres is unbelievable. And that limits the CGT a bit but I think that with the same, modern tyres [as the GT2] it would be sensational. But the tyres are the limiting factor. You really notice it e.g. by braking that although the brakes are the same as in the GT2 the tyres just don't bite the same and give you the same braking ability."
