Hello,

First of all, great forum!
I have been searching for a GT3 mk1 and mk2 for a while, not in a hurry, haven’t found one that meets my exact requirements yet. I contacted a large Porsche dealer not too far away from me and the salesman told me that they had a GT3 mk1 on the way in. The car is silver metallic, 2000 model, LHD (Sweden), no clubsport but Porsche recaro bucket seats and cage. No accident, 17000km, 2 owners (first one until 14000km), second one is a large customer at the dealership and has ordered a new car. It is in very good condition. Just serviced at Porsche and 2 new rear tires.

What do you guys think this car is worth?? I would appreciate some help. Anything special I should check or ask about the car? Thanks!

Is it the one via RSJ in Slough?

It is at a good price if it is... (circa 40k from memory)

Cheers

Well, yes, good price from Porsche.

It would be 40-42k private-independent. It may be the same one that had 17k kms - friend was offered it and I remember thinking great price. It may not have gone into RSJ at the end.

I'd go for it at that price - you'd be hard pressed to get a 993RS for that these days and it would have more than 17k.

Cheers
Dom

It just shows the efficiency of the marketplace to determine prices correctly Dom

Interestingly, I think the trade price for that car was 38k... I bet the OPC bought it in for that or maybe a grand more. I'd negotiate around that fact. They will have a healthy margin in it, even at 45k.

IMO, the 993RS will eventually overtake the GT3 in terms of resale, as Clubsport says. It will probably be the most sought after Porsche on the 'classic car' market in 10 years time. The 964RSs are too racer raw, the GT3s too refined and modern in comparison.

PS Before Paul (Clubsport) asks about the Baron, it is now having its engine rebuilt to stop the smoking, so nothing is ever simple. Uprated shell bearings and oil pump planned for it tho', so it should be better than before. The saga continues...

"Dom how's the Bar....." Looking forward to seeing the car, it will be truly astonishing once you get it back after the work done.
I assume you are taking the opportunity to uprate/lighten a few components while the heads are off?

It probably won't come back with much more than 285-290bhp. It's a bigger job getting them beyond that. May have a look at lighter bits but the RS engines are already quite good. Lumpier cams a possibility but quite expensive and the idle's rubbish anyway

This GT3 I wrote about is not located in England, so it can´t be the one you are all thinking of. If you all check out GT3 prices at Porsche you will all se that they are high, especially low milage cars. They are quite rare.
Just a few examples:

In parallel with another thread, surely if you are buying a GT3 you need to find a speed yellow one right?

Ah, OK, must be a coincidence. There was certainly one of a similar spec/mileage floating around recently at low 40s with a just-below-40k trade value.

The cheapest time to buy a car is a few days before Christmas.

JS is correct,,,,,however,,If the right car comes along, as in, your spec, low mileage, decent service history and good price...BUT IT NOW!
You can wait ages for the right car to come along........people have been known to miss an entire track day season waiting on a car

Just got contacted by a Porsche dealer. They just got a 2001 model GT3 with only 5500km! Silvermetallic, recaro seats, excellent condition.

What do you guys think this car is worth? Thanks!

All Porsche cars are subject to price variences on colour / age / history / condition etc but a good straight low mileage LHD GT3 Mk1 in Arctic should be around £48--50k from most dealers.
Usually people such as Camtune , RSJ , or myself have at least one example available.
