981 Boxster 2.7 'Sports exhaust system'....is it worth it?

My Cayman 981 went in for it's 20K service today.

My loan car was a 981 Boxster 2.7 manual with Sports exhaust system.

I've read a lot about how this is a 'must have' option. I had it once in a 987 Boxster S loan care some years ago and thought it was nice...

Must say, though....didn't really make too much difference in this car. Sounds great anyway....£1.5K is a lot of money for very little return.

Save your money & get a Carnewal box...OEM part number with modified innards & probably half the price. Have a look at their website & feedback on PH from those who decided to take this option instead! It will make the OPC techies scratch their head at the noise

Apologise, I didn't explain myself very well. This was strange in that the button didn't seem to make a huge difference switched on or off.

So much talk on here that it's a 'must have' option.....wasn't impressed.

The Bose wasn't as good as in my 987 Boxster either....no longer has the speaker between the seats....that was neat and looked great too!

I've got a Cayman S (981) for a couple of days without PSE - sounds great inside the car. Don't think I would bother with PSE unless a convertible (which in the Spyder (987) sounds very good).

981 Bose has a speaker behind each front seat .. and there needs to be at least a 1in gap for them to work properly.

I had Bose on my 987 Boxster too.

Bose on the 981 Boxster is much much better than 987 IMO.

Aaaaah...I see. I need to have the seat right back because of my lanky frame, so probably messed up the sound!!
