997.2 C2S wearing front tyres more than rear?

Just had my winters swapped by OPC. Asked them for a tread depth report and they quoted 5-5.5mm on the fronts and 6mm on the rears. All 4 PS2s were new in the Spring. Assuming that they start with the same tread depths (?) does it seem plausible for the fronts to wear more than the rears? I'm thinking thoughts like 911 scrubbing on turn-in. Nearly all driving is on twisty or sweeping Highland roads - little motorway or town work. OTOH, it's entirely possible that this particular OPC has swapped their figures over… …I'll find out when I get the wheels back.

My MPSS are down to 2.5mm across on the rear, 3mmm at most. Whereas my fronts are still in the 4mm-5mm region, this is after track days and plenty of road miles.

Your either never accelerating but being very aggressive on steering or your cars geo needs looking at.

Neither of the above (I'm not noted for hanging around and I do try to be as smooth as possible on turn-in), so my thoughts were also turning to the geo, once I've rechecked the tyres myself - possibly the most likely is that OPC transposed the depth readings…

With such wide tyres I find you need to do 3 measuresments per tyre, outer/middle/inner as it's usually the inside that wears first. This might explain your ODD apparent wear pattern.

I always do when I do it myself - forgot to this time so only had the one figure that the OPC had taken. Just grovelled around in the snow and checked my winter's - they appear to be wearing normally and tolerably evenly so I'm not going to have a cow about it - will check everything properly in the Spring.

My original post was to check whether the 911s weight distro/understeer tended to make front tyres wear more - unlikely though it may be. I think we've knocked that one on the head - thanks!
