997 turbo vs turbo s

I have no previous experience of a porsche but have always wanted to have one, particularly a turbo. Whilst searching for one saw a few turbo s cars which didn't seem that much more expensive at the 3 yr old mark and reasonably low mileage. I just wondered what those who have some experience of these cars think, is it worth the slightly higher mileage and/or age in particular? Any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

Do you want a manual gearbox? If so, you can rule out the S.
