A P reg 911 993 C2 convertible. Lets assume avg miles and condition. Manual. Burgundy metallic. RHD. Private. Assume service hist full but OPC and independants. BUT it was stolen recovered about 4 yrs ago BUT the damage was just locks and glass. I guess the V5 still says this and so would a check with one of the car checks.
What you reckon its worth? thanks
Gary

Its worth what the market will bear, or in this case what you are willing to pay for it...

If, apart from the accident history, it is a very good car, it may be worth more than if its a bit tired. On the other hand, if, for example, you are very handy with a spanner, and a have a fully kitted out garage and spray booth etc etc, a slightly tired car may be OK for you...

How long is a piece of string may be an esier question for our learned forum dwellers to answer.

Let me start you of at about 24K.

My bassis for this would be that the car would be about 30K without the insurance history, so knock of 10%. Also, you don't mention aircon so knock of a further 10%.

That's my tuppence worth. I await the input of the professionals on the forum.

The register will only confirm what category write-off it is, not what damage was sustained. I once bought a "stolen recovered" car (not a Porsche) that had had a bang up the back too, so don't take it on face value that the car has only had glass and locks (what about the steering lock, for example).

I know the guy who might be selling it, he bought it from his dads scrap yard some 4 yrs ago and he verifys the damage that was sustained was very very minor. I dont know if it has aircon. But I would have thought that it might be over 10% off for stolen recovered. I guess 20K.

I'd buy it at £15k and enjoy it - in fact, if he wants to let it go for that money, let me know and I'll pay you commission on the deal

You're probably right about the aircon but , it keeps going wrong ( ask Henry!), and it weighs a ton. Better without !
